Apparently this happens a lot to digital artists that exhibited any level of proficiency at traditional mediums prior to getting into digital painting. I've had several friends with similar experiences pat me on the back and tell me I've arrived. LOL. I appreciate the support Kirstin. Thank you. I just seem to get these unsolicted professions of "I like your traditional mediums better" whenever I release a new digital painting. It unfortunately always surprises me. I just don't get why the hell they feel the need to say that. It's like your friend getting a haircut and showing it to you proudly and you saying "yeah well I liked the old style better." It's rude and uneccessary. Beyond that it just boggles my mind that anyone would not like a painting based SOLELY on the medium. I don't go around saying - "I don't care for that image - it's airbrush." No I just don't care for it for execution or style or composition etc etc. Not the effing medium! SHeesh. Anyhoo - I'm a loudmouth - I just can never let this one go. LOL.<BR/>Hugs

You seem to get this a lot don't you? I loved your last painting...and all the ones before that...and more too for the fact that they were "painted with light" as your beautiful description says. Painting is painting whatever the medium you use. I think there is a general perception that digital painting is easier or mechanical...less earthed and steeped in the dusty weight of tradition. I invite anyone with such ridiculous notions to open up Painter or Photoshop and try and paint something as beautiful as your digital artworks. THEN try and articulate exactly what the problem with an artwork painted with such a medium is.
